Although the injection of fillers like Juvederm, Radiesse, and Bellafill usually does not result in bruising, some patients do experience small bruises which can make it tougher to get back to social events. Avoiding Aspirin, Advil and Motrin are some of the more obvious ways to reduce bruising. However, there are other medications, supplements, and drinks that can thin the blood and thus predispose one to bruising. Examples of these include the class of medications known as NSAIDS, such as Naprosyn, supplements like gingko biloba, vitamin e, fish oil and beverages such as green tea and anything containing alcohol. So, all of these are to be avoided for 5 to 7 days before any injections of fillers and even Botox. The better prepared you are the better the experience will be!
