PRP stands for platelet rich plasma and is a concentrated fluid derived from a patient’s blood. It has been used in variety of medical treatments over the past several decades with significant success. The fluid contains a high concentration of growth factors and stem cells so it has the benefit of encouraging tissue growth. Over the past few years PRP treatments have gained popularity in hair restoration. Specifically patients with thinning hair can benefit from a slowing and even a reversal of this process from a series of injections. PRP is also used as a part of skin treatment involving microneedling. This combination results in improved skin texture through the stimulation of collagen production. So does PRP work- yes it does. We have seen great results for both skin and hair.
